{"id":4302,"date":"2015-01-14T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-01-14T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/universalaccountingschool.com\/changing-jobs-in-the-accounting-field\/"},"modified":"2025-03-05T03:17:09","modified_gmt":"2025-03-05T10:17:09","slug":"changing-jobs-in-the-accounting-field","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/universalaccountingschool.com\/changing-jobs-in-the-accounting-field\/","title":{"rendered":"Changing Jobs in the Accounting Field"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">It\u2019s happened to the best of us.\u00a0 We launch our careers and then decide that we\u2019re unsatisfied performing the tasks in our current occupations.\u00a0 Perhaps you began your accounting career with the idea that you would move up or switch to a job more compatible with your interests and goals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Whether you\u2019ve been in your current job for ages and need a change, or if you\u2019re just interested in the opportunities available, accounting is a wide field that offers many options.\u00a0 From controller to tax manager, from senior accountant to senior analyst, from credit manager to bookkeeper, the job possibilities are endless, so there\u2019s no reason to feel gridlocked in your accounting career.\u00a0 But as you consider a change, remember the following Do\u2019s and Don\u2019ts:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><b>1.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><b>Don\u2019t worry if the thought of changing careers makes you nervous.\u00a0 <\/b>Change of any kind, especially in a career, makes most people nervous.\u00a0 It\u2019s perfectly normal and shouldn\u2019t scare you away from accomplishing what you desire.\u00a0 Taking it slow and creating a plan will help ward off any fear you might be experiencing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><b>2.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><b>Don\u2019t get discouraged.\u00a0 <\/b>It may take awhile to 1) discover what you really want, and 2) find that perfect job for you.\u00a0 Recognize that changing jobs will require time and patience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><b>3.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><b>Don\u2019t rule out staffing agencies.\u00a0 <\/b>Sometimes you have to date a few employers and jobs before you commit to just one.\u00a0 There are staffing agencies that specialize in accounting and by taking a few months to test drive employers and occupations you\u2019ll get a good idea of which might be best for you while simultaneously getting your foot in the door.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><b>4.
